I'm Tully Greaves — part-time wildlife tracker, full-time kangaroo enthusiast. Based just outside Alice Springs, I’ve spent the last 12 years roaming the bush with nothing but my backpack, binoculars, and a camera. I run guided tours, document eastern grey and red kangaroo populations, and yes — I take a lot of photos of them.
My journey didn’t start with a degree or a big plan. I was a mechanic in Darwin who stumbled into photography after fixing a tourist's 4WD. One camera loan and one sunset kangaroo silhouette later, and I was hooked. Since then, I’ve contributed footage to national broadcasters, helped environmental groups track kangaroo movement across drought-hit zones, and even worked with local communities to identify injured roos after bushfires.
People often ask why I focus so much on kangaroos. Simple: they’re misunderstood. They're not just hopping mascots. They’re highly social, smart, and deeply adapted to Australia’s harshest conditions. Through my field work and storytelling, I try to bring people closer to them — and maybe get them to care a bit more about the land we all share.
